Standing Up to Trump and ICE

Jason understands that the Trump Administration poses an existential threat to our democracy and our rights as Americans. He recognizes that ICE has been co-opted to serve a profoundly racist agenda, murdering people on U.S. soil without due process and terrorizing immigrant communities. That’s why when ICE brought their unconstitutional and violent tactics to his district, he spoke out, fought back and got to work passing laws to stop ICE in Rhode Island and to defend immigrants and all of our rights. Jason is the only candidate for Attorney General that has committed to not cooperating with ICE in any way, shape or form.

As Attorney General, Jason will:

• Refuse to cooperate with the racist terror tactics of the Trump administration's federal immigration enforcement agenda.

• Uphold our rights by bringing cases under the Federal Constitution Defense Act.

• Push the General Assembly to require identification, ban masks, and restrict ICE from entering sensitive areas.

• Protect our democracy and defend Rhode Island by working with other Attorneys General around the country and joining litigation to stop the illegal and unconstitutional actions by Trump and his administration.
